Van Tunen was founded in 1959. While the roots of the company originate from building and construction activities over the years the company has developed into a service provider that specialises in the lease of heavy equipment either manned or unmanned for many different fields of work, both home and abroad.

Demolition work, screening, transhipment and earthmoving form our main activities.
Van Tunen is able to add something extra to the lease of equipment, often we adapt equipment to the specific needs of our customers.
High quality service, flexibility, attention for detail and expertise are the qualities which provide the basis for our excellent reputation. Anyone can offer equipment for leasing but the ability to offer the full service distinguishes us from our competitors.

Van Tunen is employing about hundred motivated and well trained workers. We offer our services on a full time basis (168 hours a week) to meet our customers highest demands. Any defects in equipment are quickly remedied by either the company’s own service department or the global support on the equipment.
All the operations are co-ordinated from our head office in Velsen-Noord.

Our different working areas

• We supply mini-diggers, excavators on wheels and tracks, wheelloaders, bulldozers and dump trucks. Primarily used for maintaining roads and verges, the construction and removal of temporary roads, the construction of sewers and for dumping operations.
• For transhipment and earthmoving activities Van Tunen offers a variety of excavators (rubber tired and track-type), with a bucket capacity from 450 – 6.500 litres.
• Unique pieces of equipment are the excavators with a boom and stick with a reach of more than twenty-two metres. For instance to be used for the demolition of high structures in combination with a shear. Or for activities under water where, combined with the use of a GPS based depth and slope monitor that virtually allows the operator ‘to see’ below the surface, tasks are to be performed at depth and at very high level of precision (within 4 inches).
• Besides the earthmoving activities we have equipment for all kind of specialized activities such as recycling, screening, mixing, burning and removing.

• Since 1998 we have a subsidiary company in Sudan to be used as a springboard for our activities in Africa and the Middle-East.
